well, i went to bed a tad early last night in hopes that i would wake up to find that santa had plowed alma drive in the night – but no such luck this morning. i just got back from walking to the supermarket because, although i’m embarrassed to admit, i have practically no food in my house. i generally buy small portions and eat them, then go buy something else. needless to say, i didn’t plan ahead for a blizzard. so chinese food at the food court in the supermarket was looking like a feast by the time i made it there. the snow was so deep in parts of the walk that my knees are officially wet (and freezing). i had *really* hoped that the store would have snow shovels, as i certainly don’t have one (or anything resembling one), but they were completely sold out. ah well, live and learn.
here are some pictures of the drifts outside my place, and the view going both ways. not a snow plow in sight. =(
edit: after looking at those photos, i realized it looks like a couple of inches. while that’s true in parts, i trudged through areas on the way to the store that literally came up to my mid-thigh. the big thing that is keeping me from venturing out in the car is not whether i could make it out, but rather since i live on a hill — there would be no chance i could get back to my place if the roads turned out to be too crappy and i’m not in the mood for risking it quite yet. i’ll wait on the plows.

That is why you leave that crap behind and move to sunny Arizona!!! On random side note, I found the pics of when my family came to meet you the other day when I was unpacking. And my sister and I were talking about how cool it was when you hooked us up with the private screening of Jurassic Park!!!
